California: Cellar Worker

Perform all cellar related activities; able to work with limited supervision.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist the Cellar Master & Cellar Supervisor with supervision and training of lesser skilled personnel in accordance with established cellar procedures.
• Have the ability to supervise & manage lesser skilled personnel or shifts in the absence of a supervisor.
• Assists with monitoring the daily cellar production requirements that are required by the Cellar Supervisor, Cellar Master & Winemaking teams to ensure production goals are met.
• Assists in the development of cellar procedures that are designed to facilitate efficient production of quality wines, while maintaining sound manufacturing practices.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive and thorough knowledge of all work functions and practices performed in the cellar with no supervision, including but not limited to; cleaning & sanitization, pumpover’s, racking, transferring & blending. Chemical additions and fining agents, tank & barrel mixing and topping, barrel work, yeasting, shipping & receiving, scale operations, centrifuging, filtering, forklift & dump truck driving.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive and thorough knowledge to competently operate and troubleshoot all of the equipment in the cellars with no supervision. Including, but not limited to: crush pad processing equipment ; augers, grape crushers, conveyors, hoists, presses, rotary fermentors, filters; pressure plate & frames, diatomaceous earth, cartridges , cross flow, reverse osmosis, centrifuges ,heat exchangers, barrel washers, barrel fillers, barrel scanners, forklifts, ozone machines, dump trucks & weigh master duties ( scale operations), pumps , gassing devises and meters, pressure washers and pumps.
